The professional wrestler globally recognized by his ring name Oba Femi entered the world under his legal birth name Isaac Odugbesan. He was born on April 22, 1998, in the metropolitan city of Lagos, located within the West African nation of Nigeria. His biological parents who raised him are named Maria Belleh Odugbesan and Niyi Odugbesan. During his youth in Nigeria, his foundational academic journey included studying at the University of Lagos. During his initial freshman academic season at this specific institution in 2016, he participated heavily in track and field sports, specifically securing ten shot put medals in the competitive Nigerian University Games Association tournaments. Following these regional athletic achievements, he permanently relocated from his home country of Nigeria to the United States of America in the autumn of 2017 to advance his academic and sports goals. This structural shift allowed him to enroll at Middle Tennessee State University on a full track and field athletic scholarship, where he earned the official title of Conference USA Male Freshman of the Year in 2017. He subsequently transferred his academic credits to the University of Alabama in 2019, where he chose a major centered on the studio arts and visual arts. His track and field record at the University of Alabama became permanent when he won the indoor shot put championship title at the Southeastern Conference Track and Field Championships in 2021 and repeated this exact athletic victory in 2022, while also capturing the outdoor shot put title. His official collegiate career concluded when he graduated from the University of Alabama with a formal bachelor degree in visual arts in May 2022. Outside of his collegiate track records, World Wrestling Entertainment officially signed him to a developmental sports contract in December 2021 as a member of the inaugural class of the specialized Next In Line recruitment program. He officially reported to the physical WWE Performance Center training facility in Orlando, Florida, in August 2022 to begin his initial professional wrestling drills. His professional wrestling career reached a permanent milestone when he made his official televised in-ring debut on the WWE Next Generation program known as NXT Level Up on November 11, 2022, competing in a singles match against his opponent Dante Chen. He went on to win the 2024 Men’s NXT Breakout Tournament by defeating Riley Osborne in the final match at the televised New Year’s Evil special event on January 2, 2024. This specific victory directly enabled him to cash in his tournament contract to challenge and successfully defeat Trick Williams for the NXT North American Championship on January 9, 2024, which legally established him as the absolute first athlete from the corporate Next In Line program to win an official championship title in World Wrestling Entertainment history.
