Angelo Dawkins

The professional wrestler globally recognized by his ring name Angelo Dawkins entered the world under his legal birth name Gary Gordon. He was born on July 24, 1990, in the city of Cincinnati, located within the state of Ohio in the United States of America. He spent his early life growing up in Fairfield, Ohio, where he completed his foundational education and actively engaged in amateur athletics. During his school and collegiate days, he became a highly accomplished multi-sport athlete, excelling at a high competitive level in football, track and field, and amateur wrestling. This strong foundation in amateur combat and collegiate sports caught the attention of professional wrestling scouts. World Wrestling Entertainment officially signed him to a developmental sports contract in late 2012, marking his formal entry into the professional wrestling industry. He began his initial ring drills under the guidance of veteran trainers including Bill DeMott, Billy Gunn, Dusty Rhodes, and Robbie Brookside. His professional wrestling career reached a permanent milestone when he made his official in-ring debut at a developmental live event on December 20, 2012. He subsequently made his first official televised appearance on the NXT program on May 23, 2013, where he competed in a singles match against his opponent Sami Zayn. During his early years in the developmental territory, he initially performed as an enhancement talent and later joined a stable of amateur athletes known as Shoot Nation in late 2014 alongside fellow wrestlers Chad Gable and Jason Jordan. His career took a permanent historic turn in late 2016 when he formed a tag team partnership with Kenneth Crawford, who was later renamed Montez Ford. This duo officially became known as The Street Profits, a team that would go on to achieve immense success across multiple brands. They won their first major tag team titles outside the main roster by defeating Chris Dickinson and Jaka to capture the EVOLVE Tag Team Championship on October 28, 2018. They reached a definitive milestone in NXT when they won a dramatic fatal four-way ladder match at NXT TakeOver XXV on June 1, 2019, to capture the vacant NXT Tag Team Championship. He made his official transition to the main roster when The Street Profits began appearing in televised backstage segments on Monday Night Raw starting on July 1, 2019. He won his first main roster championship title when he and his partner defeated Seth Rollins and Murphy to capture the Raw Tag Team Championship on March 2, 2020. As part of the 2020 corporate draft, he was officially drafted to the SmackDown brand, where the duo subsequently exchanged titles with The New Day to officially hold the SmackDown Tag Team Championship, making them the second tag team in history to achieve the WWE Tag Team Triple Crown distinction. In his personal life, he reached a permanent legal milestone when he wed his spouse Grace Russo in a formal marriage ceremony in the year 2024.
